5 Tips For Relaxing as a Busy Mom

Self-care. What a beautiful word, yet one we so seldom act on! As moms, it’s hard to give ourselves the same attention we give to others. It can feel selfish or wrong to focus on ourselves when others need us. But caring for others is demanding and exhausting, and it’s hard to give when we’re drawing from an empty well. Here are five sweet ways to relax when you’re feeling exhausted, frazzled, and at the end of you’re rope. They’re guaranteed to recharge you and get you back to feeling fine again.

  1. Unwind in a Hot Bubble Bath

Shut the door, put on some calming music, and pour yourself a bath with your favorite bath product. Pink grapefruit can help clear the mind, geranium is reputed to soothe emotions, and lavender promotes calm. Bonus points for a book, and extra bonus points for not dropping it in the water as you feel yourself melting in the scented warmth.

Okay, that might not sound relaxing, but it really is. If grabbing your trainers and going for a run isn’t your style, take a walk around the block or put on your favorite tunes and have an impromptu dance party. Exercise helps you release stress and tension, sleep better, and feel that wonderful endorphin rush.
